Anyone here bought directly from dokurotarou?

I really want to paint one of the new Cyborg Mr. X figures, and sent an email.  It's a lottery though, so I bet my chances of even being drawn are slim.

i buy direct from nari-san constantly. he is an a1 supernice man in my book. and his lotteries are fair and just. i will not out anybodys sucky lotteries that are dominated by flippers and retailghosts - - i will just say that his lotteries are not like theirs. it is not just his designs that keep me and others paying our respects to nari-san; it is also nari-san himself. they way he does things...always thinking of us first. the man loves his fans as much as we love him. truly a one man factory and a shining diadem in the japanese kaiju crown. cant say enough nice things about him or his toys or the way he does business.

you enter that lottery and you cross your fingers. because you have not ordered from him before...your odds are much better than those who always put in. thats how his lotteries seem to turn. and you dont see very much elegab on the flipper market because he tries not to sell to those people and more than discourages that type of behavior.

good luck. i hope you win.

Thanks!  I've only heard positive things about buying from him. I hope I win!
I'mma winnah!
Congrats. Boy is his stuff neat. Such great designs and really well-done lotteries that you honestly have a chance in. The dude cares. Now your hooked. Monsterpolicepatrol and the glow apache army was my in road. I had his kaiju comrades trio..but that damn mpatrol set really did it to me. Now I haunt his site keeping aware of drops.
I am so glad you got drawn. Nothing like good lotteries for good vinyl. And elegab is always packed and shipped in total pro fashion.
Congrats Seth !

I am not a winnah this round. But it is the first l in a bunch of w so I am just superduper stoked to see seth hit his first elegab lottery. I remember I felt quite kingly. And golly am I proud of that mpatrol set. One of my bigtime faves and will never part with it while I'm still suckin air.
Good score seth.

I'm sorry Daniel, I hope you get one!

I adore the Cyborg design, and I can't wait to see it in person.  It feels like it walked out of the 50s or 60s, without being self-conscious about it. I adore it.

Now to find a Shuttlegon and Oil Shock.

I really want to get that book from his store, anyone got it? Looks sweet!

Just curious, but of all the Elegab toys (not necessarily just among the ones you have), what are your favorite sculpts? I've always followed news of Elegab, but I never seemed to pull the trigger on any of the toys because they just didn't fit in with the other stuff I'm into (amusing, but not quite the same way as your typical Bullmark-style sculpts of traditional kaiju).

Well, I finally picked up a Tunneran a couple months ago...and I kinda love it! The abstractness of a road come to life is just great. Very creative, very clever...and as a toy, it actually works pretty well.

While I've never had any in hand, I really like the designs of Oil Crisis (Oil Shock?), Puppet Seijin, and Shuttlegon

And of course, Cyborg Mr. X.

But those three I really want to have in my collection.  The rest are incredibly evocative, but I'm not sure I want them hard enough to track down/pay the price they'll command.

Nari-san stuff is pretty wild. A lot of collectors in the states seem to like his stuff too.
