Hints and Spices - First Vinyl Toy

Hey guys, I am really excited to announce the upcoming release of my first vinyl toy!

Designed by me (Shane Haddy), with linework by TOVI and sculpted by Makino-San of TTToys. This little (currently unnamed) beast is hopefully going to be released in the next two months.

 

I am getting a few prototype resins in the post and I can't wait to hit them up with some MK!!

ohhh i am proud of you and equally jealous all at the same time. i like the tttoy releasesi have and look forward to scoring yours too. you must be super stokified to get your foot into the toydoor. congrats to you.

I got the original sculpt and resin prototypes and I have to say, I am VERY EXCITED!

very nice. protos are true to original sculpt. l really like the look. it has a great eastwest crossover feel. i like the mean monsters from space and robots just fine, but what i am drawn to time after time is CHARACTER and not just theme; i am a junky for this angle in the worst way and it is what i look for first in a piece. does it look like its about to speak or do something that may not be proper...does it look like the only thing it lacks is life..and will a little paint bring this out..? but that is just me and what i look for in a sculpt..character. this little guy has it goin on. he looks ready to start trouble. what a neat first piece for you and it looks like a lot of thought and work is going into bringing him to life in the real world.

    i have long adopted this little obscure mission statement as my own; i have yet to see it laid out more clearly by any other individual or collective so far. you seem to be embracing the mission statement perfectly and from the heart. priceless creative behavior.

Yeah I can't wait to paint him up! Having the sculpt in hand, I can see the characters perception changing with various paints, especially with the eyes.

Funny you mention that he is "ready to start trouble" :P I think that all Kaiju are just misunderstood and this guy is just a little mischief maker :P

Thanks Bob! Yes, started off with a finger puppet for many reasons ;)

I really hope to release a 6-10" articulated beast in the future :) just one step at a time! Also, a design that is more 60s/70s Kaiju inspired :)
