Ben sent me this this morning...and it's got me excited!
Kinnikuman/M.U.S.C.L.E. is the shit, and I'd love to see new figures get made en masse. I know a lot of folks out there make custom M.U.S.C.L.E. figs...and that's cool...but this is just genius. To bring ALL these folks together into a project of this magnitude is just perfect.
Now...just need to make something...

Some more details: it's basically a "rolling admissions" kind of thing, so no hard deadline. The deal is, he makes you your 20 figures for free, but then he makes some for himself to sell with other artists' figures. He pockets that profit to help pay for the whole thing, of course, but he gives the artists full credit. You retain full rights to your IP...and you get your name out there. Pretty nice deal if you ask me.
As long as he keeps getting submissions from artists, he'll keep doing this. I've already got a couple pieces in the works...

Though I remember MUSCLES/Monster in my Pocket from my youff, I was a Lego/Micro Machines/Transformers Boy.
All this got me buying a few though, sculpts are nifty in person!
I haven't heard much from Mad Joe...I hope this is still going on. Josh Barton, Ben, and I have been brainstorming different ideas behind the scenes. In some cases, we're looking at CAD-modeling designs for tight details...and in other cases, we're thinking of sculpting in 2UP or even 4UP scale, then 3D laser scanning the sculpture to scale down and 3D print...
Fun shit, for sure!
Permalink Reply by UofMUSCLE.com on June 7, 2011 at 9:47am It's still going on - at least that's what he keeps saying.
I know people have sent him figures, but not too much else has happened.

I haven't tried contacting Joe since way back...but I've definitely been pursuing my own little rubber guys.

AshuraShin is hot like fire!
Permalink Reply by Josh Barton on June 17, 2011 at 9:27pm I, too, am looking forward to Ashurashine.
And yes the collab is deader than god. Either mad joe had been killed or he just got what sculpts he could and decided it was too hard to pursue. And rather than just balls up, he bailed. Even a simple tweet like "i'm crazy sick. can't do collab." or "got in way over my head. sorry." would be better than hiding.
