Im getting ready to mold-up a new toy sculpt of mine and was going to put a sealer on the piece. I was curious if anyone has used MK gloss coat as a sealer if not working in wax? I also wanted to use it as a final beauty coat over the piece. Will post photos later. Thanks-

Attention resin dudes ! please try to answer Aaren's questions. I don't know the answer :0
If it firmly bonds to baked sculpy, then I would think it will work, I just haven't tested this yet. Thanks-
I use super sculpey and have been using a smooth-on sealer prior to mold making. Never tried mk clear but would think you would be ok along as you use a release agent.

Just make sure it's a smooth surface.  I've had it come out really rough when I tried to spray a bike helmet.  Live and learn, I should have sanded the thing down first.

Also I've recently had it not stick to hard ABS plastic, that had superglue on it. I think it reacted to the cyanoacrylate.

Pre sanding on objects other than toys is usually a must. Sand and wipe down with 70% alcohol to clean the object. then apply your mk.

Thanks all.
Seth: very glassy and smooth already, but like dead pres says, i'll follow the MK paint prep rules. Thanks-
Todd: thanks, I use smooth-on products but have not used their sealer. Will try sometime.

My thought with using MK as sealer is that I could get an even finer paint particle using MK through my iwata than a sealer through an aerosol can. I realize this is pretty ridiculous, being that the sealer is still liquid and smooths out as it hits a surface. All the same, I'll run some tests soon with MK vs. a sealer or shellac.

Dead pres: are there two different versions of your clear coat? Satin, high gloss, etc? I bought the MK High gloss by itself and also got MK clear coat in a few of the kits. Wasn't sure if there was a distinction here. Thanks-
Yes , there is different clear coats. High Gloss & Matte for airbrush

Aerosol has Flat & Gloss as well.
