Although there's nothing better than the feeling of painting vinyl, I'm not a strike while the iron is hot kind of guy.  If people like what I'm doing, maybe I'll move forward to J-vinyl (dreams), but I like learning how to do everything on my own first, (sculpting, waste casts, wax casts, etc...)  Than I would feel comfortable moving forward and having it made in vinyl.  I see a lot of people making toys, left and right, but if it was that easy to do this, and live comfortably then everyone would do it, and a huge portion of the craft would be lost.  First and foremost, I want to keep the tradition of toymaking alive, but the second biggest necessity will be to put out a mind blowing piece of art, that's completely playable.  If I had try to make the first idea I had sculpted, I would have a lot of junk sitting around, up in the attic right now.  I don't mean to prattle on, just my feelings on the toy scene rising to the surface.

It's really true, although some folks may find it tedious, I think a full run of toys takes real talent.  Hopefully, I'll be trying my hand, sooner than later.  My wife bought me a resin kit for Christmas, and once my sculpt is done, I'll make some copies and see what people think.

Yes, I have a wise ass comment I use to my production accounts. "Anyone can do a 1 off" "Try doing a 100 off " It's quite difficult to pull off a custom painted run. To me it is totally worth all the effort. When I see toy companies do 1-2 color simple sprays on a toy my mind tells me it could look so much better with 1-2 more colors to really make it a great piece. Just my 2 cents :0

Thanks Matt I'm having fun with it.  I'd really like to get my hands on a run of figures, so I can practice on continuity.

The detail your getting is so nice. In hand it must be a beauty!
